THE EXCRETORY SYSTEM
Excretion is the process
of removing waste products from the blood. Wastes can be removed through
the lungs (gases such as carbon dioxide), the liver
(body products and toxins) or through the kidneys
Blood is passed through the kidneys and the waste products are removed into
a watery substances (urine). The urine passes through two tubes
(the ureters) and is stored in the urinary bladder.
When the bladder is full, urine is passed out of the body through the urethra
Urine differs from blood in that is has higher levels of water, salt and
the waste product urea
