Rook, R (2007) The identification and sequencings of a novel polypeptide recovered from brain tissue of Corvus orru suffering acute neurological disturbances. CARCS 27(8), 29-32.

Abstract : A novel polypeptide sequence has been recovered from the brain tissue of Corvus orru (Torresian Crows) which have been exhibiting unusual neurological symptoms. These crows have suffered fatal disturbances to normal patterns of behaviour, involving habitual turning around in circles and eventual loss of all nervous coordination. Microscopic examination of brain tissue revealed numerous lesions which contained a novel short peptide chain. Sequencing studies have revealed an amino acid sequence of met-asn-tyr-his-gly-thr-ile-pro-trp-ala-leu-trp-thr.
